I read the same post couple of days before. Well, I think Gutsy is better than XP now. I could use my wireless card out of the box, enable compiz with single command, wine PSCS2 and IE. I really dont have any more need for windows unless I want to use Visual Studio.
You are right, Gutsy is pretty good. That’s what I am using at home though unlike you I did have issue with my wireless card and with the OS not detecting my laptop battery (just had to start 2 services in the right order). I am very happy with it and use Windows only for iTunes (and occasionally for watching movies and ripping CDs).
